L.V. Durham, Jr.

L.V. Durham Jr., age 70 of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on January 8, 2022.

L.V. Durham Jr. was born on April 30,1951 to L.V. "Chick" Durham Sr. and Betty Boultinghouse Durham in Brownfield, Texas. He graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1970. He married his late wife Sandra Lindsey Durham August 7, 1970. They were married for 41 beautiful years. L.V. and Sandra had two daughters (Christy and Stephanie) and a son (L.V. "Skeet" III). L.V. provided for his sweet little family working a multitude of various jobs. He was a diesel mechanic on a road construction crew for a number of years before having a 13-year career in the oil field as an operations supervisor for Western. After his daughters graduated and left home to start their own lives, L.V. and Sandra became team truck drivers and drove all over the United States for several years. Eventually, L.V. drove for Walmart trucking up until his retirement in 2013, logging hundreds of thousands of miles on the open road.

He resided at Lake Brownwood after retirement and in 2014 L.V. met Carol and they were married in 2016 on South Padre Island. They were happily married for over five years. During this time, they made many favorable memories such as moving to Port Isabel, Texas where they enjoyed the sunny side of life.

L.V. was a precious and quiet soul. He was not a man of many words but when he spoke it was for purpose. He was a man with a work ethic like none other. He was always doing what needed to be done and was always willing to lend a helping hand. L.V. possessed a unique blend of sincerity and humor with a hint of sarcasm that he will forever be remembered for. There will never be another like him and he will be dearly missed. His love for fishing, riding his motorcycle and traveling provided a life full of adventure. A favorite past time of his was watching old westerns.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Sandra Lindsey Durham; daughter, Stephanie Lynn Mixon; an infant son L.V. "Skeet" Durham III; mother, Betty Boultinghouse Durham; father, L. V. Durham Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Elizabeth Durham; daughter, Christy Lynn Durham Gray (Trent Gray) of Fruita, CO; sister, Vicki Durham Sharp of Lubbock, TX; and two brothers, Cary Durham (Beth Durham) of Lubbock, TX; Randy Durham of Callisburg, TX.
