Roscoe Jack Snell, 79, died July 24, 2020 in Gustine, Texas.
A commemorative ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug 21, 2020 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3325 N. 12th St. in Abilene.
Burial with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug 21, 2020 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.
He was born on Oct 19, 1940 in Anson, Texas to Roscoe Ivan and Ethyl Pearl Bearden Snell. On Aug 16, 1963, he married Gail Summers in the First Baptist Church of McCamey, Texas. He was a 20-year Navy veteran. He later taught electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration courses at Cisco Junior College and ran various businesses. He served as mayor and alderman for the City of Rankin.
Surviviors include his wife, Katheryn Snell of Gustine; daughter, Carolyn Wellborn of Abilene; sons, Billy Jack Snell of Highland, Utah and Ivan Kirk Snell of Mexia; nine grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Bob Snell of Sidney; sisters, JoAnn Woodard of May and Freda Whisenant of Lamesa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers donations be made to the Diamond J Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 24, Gustine, Texas.
