Re: Fraternity brothers at HPU serve community with clean-up project, Jan. 22.

I recently read about Howard Payne University’s fraternity Zeta Chi helping clean up Downtown Brownwood. As a current student at Howard Payne and also having grown up in Brown County I am proud to attend school in my hometown. Howard Payne is a place that truly cultivates the growth of young adults, enabling them to blossom into well-rounded, community-changing adults.

There are so many positive things happening on our campus, along with the good works of Zeta Chi, and in Downtown Brownwood. There is the continual success of the athletic programs (the Lady Jacket basketball team is currently undefeated), and the recent funding to give Mims Auditorium a facelift. The ongoing improvements and beautification projects downtown are truly making Brownwood a place that “Feels Like Home.”

It is my hope, both as a resident of Brown County and a student at Howard Payne, that the good works happening in downtown Brownwood and on our campus will further benefit others as much as they have benefited me.
