In response to the letter from Cathy Parks, who was without water over the Thanksgiving holiday:
Miss Parks, while I feel for your boys not having any water, the blame lies on you, not the City of Bangs. Since my husband works for a “small city” utilities department, I know that the City would have worked with you on paying your bill at a later date, had you attempted to call them, say, before the bill was actually late.
Cities don’t normally turn the water off if your bill is late just a few days or just one time; however, they do turn it off if a customer is habitually late about paying the bill. So keep that in mind the next time you decide to blast the City for something that was your responsibility. They’re just doing their job.
