To the editor:

I recently made a trip to Greenleaf Cemetery to visit the grave sites of my parents. Since I had lived in Virginia until recently, this was my first trip to find the sites.

I made a donation when we left and was surprised to see how grateful the office manager was. We discussed the fact that most people think perpetual care lasts forever (as perpetual implies), but it comes out to be about $3 per year, which certainly does not cover all the mowing, weed eating, tree trimming, etc.

I have made it a point to support Greenleaf at least once a year.

It is my hope that other Brownwood families who have relatives in Greenleaf will take the time to honor their relatives with some support for the cemetery.
