CLYDE — The No. 22 Brownwood Lady Lions tuned up for postseason action with a 62-47 road victory over the District 8-3A champion Clyde Lady Bulldogs Tuesday night.
The Lady Lions (22-7) jumped out to a 21-8 lead after one quarter, carried a 35-22 edge into halftime and were in front 48-33 through three periods.
Trejouir Wilson led the attack for Brownwood with 17 points followed by 15 from Heaven Walker, 13 from Mallory Garcia, six each from Taytum Sutton and Tyanne Stewart and five points from Dominique Revada.
The Lady Lions shot 44 percent (23 of 52) from the floor, 31 percent (5 of 16) from three-point land and 68 percent (11 of 16) at the free throw line. Brownwood also dished out 17 assists and forced 16 steals on the defensive end.
Brownwood’s seventh straight trip to the playoffs begins with a Region I-4A bi-district showdown against District 5-4A third seed Vernon at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Breckenridge.
Clyde will face District 7-3A fourth seed Bangs — a 47-36 winner over Early Tuesday — in Region I-3A bi-district action. That first-round game is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday night in Eastland.
