BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons continued to build momentum for District 7-3A softball action with a 10-2 victory over Dublin.
The Lady Dragons (11-4) scored three runs each in the first and third innings, one apiece in the second and sixth and two runs in the fourth. Bangs finished with nine hits, while Dublin committed four errors.
Offensively, Haley Pitts doubled twice and drove in three runs while Erin Anderson and Vanessa Perez each finished with two hits, including a double, and one RBI apiece. Kynedi Bradley added a hit and a pair of RBIs while Brianna Zapata and Taylor Malett also picked up hits.
In the circle, Anderson went the distance and yielded one earned run on three hits with 13 strikeouts and a walk.
Dublin scored both its runs in the top of the second inning to briefly close the gap to 3-2.
The Lady Dragons host Cisco at 5 p.m. Friday in their pre-district finale.
Wall 9, Early 4
WALL — The Wall Lady Hawks snapped a 4-all tie by scoring the final five runs en route to handing the Early Lady Horns a 9-4 loss.
Early (11-8) scored in the top of the first, but Wall answered for a 2-1 lead. The Lady Horns grabbed a 4-2 advantage in the top of the second, but the Lady Hawks knotted the score in the bottom of the frame. Wall went ahead for good with a solo run in the fifth and added four insurance runs in the sixth.
The Lady Horns finished with five hits and drew 15 walks against the Wall pitching trio of Kenzee Smith, Madi Herrera and Taylor Bickford.
Parker Smith singled and drew four walks for Early; Ramsie Rodgers added two hits, a pair of walks and an RBI; Makayla Deleon finished with a hit and an RBI, Lily Reagan walked three times; and Beale Madison Gordon walked once.
In the circle for Early, Deleon pitched six innings and gave up nine runs — two earned — on five hits with eight strikeouts and seven walks.
The Lady Horns host Dublin at 5 p.m. Friday in their pre-district finale.
