GRAHAM — The Brownwood High tennis team finished third in three draws at the District 6-4A tournament, which concluded Wednesday.
In girls doubles action, the Lady Lion tandem of Maritza Pargas and Kendra Renfroe defeated teammates Heather Williams and Piper Barberie, 6-3, 7-5.
The girls singles third-place match featured Lady Lion Bailey Bishop downing Victoria Ertl of Graham, 6-2, 6-3.
And Brownwood’s mixed doubles team of Zach Hall and Brittney Blake knocked off Graham’s Marcos Montfort and Isabelle Ertl, 6-2, 6-0.
None of the Brownwood third-place finishers had the opportunity to compete in playbacks as they had already fallen to the runners-up in each of the respective draws.
In the other third-place matches Wednesday, Brownwood’s Matthew Thompson fell to Colton Jeffress of Stephenville, 6-3, 6-3 in boys singles competition, while the Lions doubles team of Josh Dean and Jeremy Roberson was upended by Reagan Drake and Ryan Drake of Stephenville, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.
