ALBANY — The Early Lady Horns knocked off the Bangs Lady Dragons in three sets Saturday to place third in the consolation bracket of the Albany volleyball tournament.

Early dropped the opening set, 25-21, but rallied to win the second, 26-24, and captured the tiebreaker, 15-9.

Leading the charge for the Lady Horns were Cylee Tyson with two kills, two aces, 13 assists and three digs; Tuesdi Tidwell with two aces, two kills and two blocks; Holly Callaway with one kill and eight digs; Hope Boswell with one ace, nine kills, two blocks, seven digs and four assists; Jayslin King with two kills, eight digs and three assists; Kacee Gober with eight kills and four blocks; Lainey Speck with three kills and one block; Gabby Constancia with one ace, one kill, four digs and one assist; Shaunna Kay Connelly with one block; Brilee Tabor with four digs and seven assists; Ellie Ryan with one kill, one assist and one block; and Hallie Brinson with two digs and two assists.

For the Lady Dragons, Harley Montague and Karlie Little tallied two kills apiece while Kenzie Baker and Kenedi Deal each added one. Montague served two aces while Alli Allen and Brooklyn Elliott chipped in one apiece. Elliott also finished with seven assists while Allen chipped in three.

On the defensive end for Bangs, Baker recorded five digs followed by four each from Deal and Vanessa Perez, two from Little and one by Montague.

Earlier in the day, the Lady Horns were dealt a 25-12, 25-15 loss by Millsap.

Boswell finished with four kills, one dig and one assist for Early while other key contributors included Ryan with a kill; Gober with two kills and two blocks; Tyson with four assists; Constancia with one dig; King with two kills and an assist and Tabor with one assist.

The Lady Dragons started Saturday with a 25-19, 25-14 loss to Bronte.

Bangs received two kills each from Elliott and Baker and one apiece from Allen, Deal and Little. Allen dished out eight assists, Elliott added seven, Deal finished with two and Marianna Alvarado chipped in one. Montague recorded Bangs' lone assist.

Defensively, Deal notched five digs followed by three from Baker, two each from Little and Kimberly Robinson and one from Perez. Montague tallied the Lady Dragons' only block.

Early (3-3) opens its home schedule at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against Clyde, while Bangs (1-4) visits Brownwood at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
