Bangs slips to 5-11 overall with 25-20, 25-19, 25-18 home loss

BANGS — The growing pains for the Bangs Lady Dragons continued Tuesday night as they were on the wrong end of a straight-set decision against Albany.

Bangs slipped to 5-11 overall following a 25-20, 25-19, 25-18 home defeat.

“We're playing hard and with heart, but we're still struggling with our consistency,” said Lady Dragons head coach Lori Eason. “If we can get all six playing together at one time we can be competitors.”

Kenzie Baker finished with three kills for the Lady Dragons offense while Alli Allen, Kenedi Deal and Karlie Little contributed two apiece.

Baker also recorded a team-high 13 assists followed by four from Allen.

Behind the line, Allen and Little each served five aces, Deal added four and Harley Montague chipped in three.

Defensively, Little notched five digs followed by Baker, Deal and Marianna Alvarado with two apiece and Kyra Smith with one.

Baker also tallied five blocks trailed by Smith and Montague with three each, Allen with two and Vanessa Perez with one.

The Lady Dragons host Bronte Tuesday and visit Wall Sept. 17 before traveling to Dublin Sept. 24 for the District 6-3A opener.
