DALLAS — The Brownwood Lions finished third in the Class 4A and under division at the Dallas Jesuit cross country meet held at Norbuck Park this past Friday, while the Lady Lions placed eighth out of 32 teams in the Class 5A/6A Division.

The Lions tallied 95 points, which left them behind only Fort Worth Nolan Catholic (43 points) and Irving Cistercian Prep (57 points).

The Lady Lions amassed 258 points, which trailed Frisco Liberty (51 points), Frisco Wakeland (83 points), Rockwall (110 points), Plano (135 points), Tyler Lee (203 points) and Richardson Lake Highlands (238).

The Lions’ effort was led by Josh Estrada (16th, 18:55.3) followed by Logan Dick (17th, 19:07.3), Joe Gosch (18th, 19:08.6), Damien Cisneros (21st, 19:18), Daniel Martinez (23rd, 19:18.7), Jack Robinson (24th, 19:22.8), Jason Sanchez (36th, 20:13.6) and Jesse Sanchez (43rd, 20:32.3).

Izzy Lawrence (36th, 21:16.3) paced the Lady Lions followed by Kyra Young (38th, 21:19.8), Audrey Boren (53rd, 21.47.9), Trinity Buitron (73rd, 22:19.6), Breyle Sauseda (88th, 22:44.4), Darby Crysler (103rd, 22:59.3) and Esmeralda Hernandez (181st, 25:05).

The next action for the Lions and Lady Lions occurs Saturday morning at Decatur.
