With 2:11 left in regulation, Rachel Crane scored with an assist from Jessica Swonger to record the only goal in the Howard Payne Lady Jackets’ 1-0 victory over the Ozarks Lady Eagles Thursday in American Southwest Conference soccer action at Citizens National Bank Field.
The Lady Jackets (4-9-1, 2-6-1) attempted seven shots with five on target, as Crane’s final try found the net. Darbi Frazier, Taylor Bicknell, Dayane Gutierrez and Tyla Tipton also fired shots on frame for Howard Payne.
Ozarks (6-8-1, 3-4-1) finished with a dozen shots and nine on goal, as HPU goal keeper Nicole Goodwin collected seven saves, while the team was credited with a pair, en route to a shutout victory.
The Lady Jackets will attempt to close their home schedule with two consecutive victories as they host UT-Tyler at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Coming off their first American Southwest Conference victory of the season, the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets played to a scoreless tie with the Ozarks Eagles Thursday at Citizens National Bank Field.
Howard Payne (2-8-2, 1-5-2) attempted 10 shots with seven on goal — two each by Josue Vasquez and Alex Sanchez, along with one apiece by Dylan Person, Derek Anderson and Anthony Chavez.
Ozarks drilled 14 shots with eight on target as HPU goal keeper Nicholas Panameno collected eight saves.
The Yellow Jackets wrap up their home schedule at 3:30 p.m. Saturday with a visit from UT-Tyler.
