Second-place Brownwood visits first-place Wylie in Tuesday's regular season finale
SNYDER — The playoff-bound Brownwood Lady Lions can finish no worse than the No. 2 seed from District 5-4A following their 20th victory of the season, a 25-18, 25-20, 25-18 road triumph over the Snyder Lady Tigers Friday.
Torrey Miller’s 13 kills paced the Brownwood offense followed by 12 from Bailey Randle, four from Mikaela Smith, three from Aleyia Cotton, two from Cheyenne Stroope and one apiece from Alex Fowler and Hadley Monroe.
Monroe also chalked up 15 assists trailed by 13 from Miller and three from Aleyia Cotton.
Miller and Kayla McFarden shared the team-high with three aces apiece while Monroe and Annie Gillispie each served one.
On the defensive end, McFarden collected 17 digs followed by Monroe with 14, Randle with eight, Miller with five, Smith with four, Gillispie and Abby Burks with three each, Aleyia Cotton with two and Stroope, Fowler and Trinity Buitron with one apiece.
At the net, Stroope, Randle and Miller each tallied one block.
The Lady Lions (20-16, 6-1) conclude the regular season at 6 p.m. Tuesday at district leader Abilene Wylie, which swept Brownwood in the first meeting between the two teams on Oct. 7.
