EARLY — The Early Lady Horns’ home volleyball schedule concluded with a four-set loss to Dublin, 25-23, 13-25, 25-23, 25-21, Saturday afternoon.
“Our last home game didn’t end like we had hoped, but we felt good about how we played overall,” said Early head coach Mitzi Bell. “When the refs tell you they’ve never in 20-plus years seen a program turn around as fast as this one has, you can’t hang your heads. These girls keep fighting every point. The transformation has been amazing to watch.”
Trinity Tomlinson paced Early with seven kills followed by Ellie Ryan and Tuesdi Tidwell with five apiece, Kacee Gober and Jayslin King with three each, Brilee Tabor with two and Hope Boswell, Cylee Tyson and Morgan Luckie with one apiece.
King distributed eight assists trailed by four each from Tyson and Ryan, two from Tidwell and one from Gabby Constancia. Tomlinson served nine aces while Constancia added three, King and Tidwell tallied two each and Luckie added one.
Defensively, Tomlinson racked up 19 digs followed by Constancia with 12, Tyson with 11, Hallie Brinson with 10, Holly Callaway with six, Luckie with four, King and Tidwell with three apiece and Boswell, Gober and Ryan with one each.
At the net, Tidwell recorded four blocks followed by King and Gober with three each and Tomlinson with one.
Early (9-21, 1-8) will wrap up its season at Comanche at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
“We’re going to finish the season strong on Tuesday, knowing great things are coming in our future,” Bell said.
