SAN SABA — The Early Lady Horns chalked up three victories in their final three outings at the San Saba tournament to push their overall record to 5-4.
The Lady Horns — led by all-tournament team members Jayslin King and Makayla Deleon — defeated Menard, 58-12, and Priddy, 40-19, Friday, followed by a 50-29 triumph over Llano on Saturday.
In Saturday’s victory, Early led Llano 14-9 after one quarter, 24-13 at halftime and 40-16 through three periods.
King paced the Lady Horns with 21 points followed by Deleon with 11, ShaunnaKay Connelly with eight, Alexis Ray with four, Kacee Gober with three, Shelby Grooms with two and Ellie Ryan with one point.
Friday’s win over Priddy saw Early establish an 8-2 lead after one quarter that stood at 19-13 at halftime and 34-14 through three periods.
Hallie Tyler’s 10 points were a team-best for the Lady Horns followed by seven from King, five from Connelly, three each from Gober and Ryan and two points apiece from Ray, Grooms and Hunter Coffee.
In Friday’s triumph over Menard, Deleon drained seven three-pointers and scored a season-high 23 points for Early. King added 10 points trailed by seven from Ray, five each from Connelly and Gober, four from Tyler and two points apiece from Coffee and Grooms.
The Lady Horns will attempt to stretch their win streak to four games at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when they host Clyde.
