Lady Horns, Longhorns, Dragons suffer defeats
BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons capped a District 6-3A sweep of the Dublin Lady Lions, chalking up a 39-24 victory Tuesday night.
Bangs (5-22, 2-6) blanked Dublin the first quarter, took an 18-5 lead into the locker room at halftime and stretched the advantage to 31-14 through three periods.
Taylor Malett paced the Lady Dragons with 23 points while Kyra Smith chipped in six.
The Lady Dragons will host Brady Friday night.

COLEMAN — The Early Lady Horns relinquished sole possession of first place in the District 6-3A basketball standings with a 36-26 loss at Coleman Tuesday night.
Coming off Friday’s 27-25 home win over Brady that pushed Early (19-11, 6-2) into the top spot in the district, the Lady Horns struggled again offensively.
Early trailed Coleman 11-8 after one quarter, 19-10 at halftime and 29-14 through three periods.
Jayslin King finished with 12 points for Early trailed by Makayla Deleon, Lauren Jesko and Hallie Tyler with four each and Alexis Ray with two points.
The Lady Horns visit Dublin Friday night.
COLEMAN — The Early Longhorns remained winless in District 6-3A basketball action following Tuesday night’s 86-29 loss at Coleman.
The Longhorns trailed 22-4 after one quarter, 52-10 at halftime and 73-20 through three frames.
Rowdy Elkins and Ty Schafer led the Longhorns with six points each followed by Ryan Trompler with five, Griffin Ehlers with four, Drew Sessler and Devyn Burns with three apiece and Josh Graves with two points.
The Longhorns (7-17, 0-6) travel to Dublin Friday.
Dublin 77, Dragons 57
BANGS — The Bangs Dragons were unable to slow down the red-hot Dublin Lions, who recorded a 77-57 District 6-3A road victory here Tuesday night.
Bangs (9-15, 1-5) trailed 18-7 after one quarter, 36-18 at halftime and 58-36 through three periods.
The Dragons received 20 points from Colton Brewer and 10 apiece from Brian Sterling and Kevin Blaine.
Bangs welcomes Brady Friday night.
