The Brownwood Flyin’ Lions concluded their first special needs track camp on Monday.
“We had five amazing athletes — Addyson Bowman, Kasidee Harvey, Titus Holmes, Cade Perkins, Zayden Smith — train with such a hard work ethic,” said Kim Harvey, one of the coaches of the Flyin’ Lions track and field program. “Their smiles and passion resonate and will inspire all they encounter. Bryan (Harvey) and I were thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Special Olympics program and now coach these special athletes. Through these experiences, we have made friends for life and been inspired by their love for life.”
Others who assisted with the camp included Cassie Stewart, who was available to assist with medical needs; Stephanie Chesser and Lori Zaccardo, who volunteered their time to assist with the camp; and Kinnison Harvey, Braylon Harvey, Alyssa Preston, and Theron Bowman, who encouraged and worked out with the athletes.
Flyin’ Lions track sponsors included TexasBank, Texas Massage Academy, Fancy’s Day Spa, Jacob’s Pharmacy, Weakley-Watson Sporting Goods and Willie’s T’s.
