BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons are headed to the postseason as the No. 3 seed out of District 6-3A despite Friday's 11-3, nine-inning loss to Coleman in the regular season finale.

Bangs (12-10, 4-6) led 1-0 after four innings and 3-1 after five, then Coleman drew even in the top of the sixth to force extra innings. After two more scoreless frames, Coleman erupted for eight runs in the top of the ninth.

The Lady Dragons generated 11 hits and drew six walks, but left 15 base runners stranded. The Bluekatts, meanwhile, finished with 15 hits, eight free passes and left a dozen runners on base.

Sadie McCambridge went the distance in the circle for Coleman, striking out seven over nine innings.
For Bangs, Kialie Dodson pitched 5.1 innings and gave up nine runs on 13 hits with four strikeouts and three walks. Isabell Escobedo worked 3.2 innings and yielded two runs on a pair of hits with five walks and three strikeouts.
Offensive standouts for the Lady Dragons included Honey Keely, Macy Rowland and Serenity Hyles with two hits apiece while Vanessa Perez, Ashlynn Emerson, Brianna Zapata, Sydney Horton and Escobedo added one each.
For the Bluekatts, McCambridge homered and drove in two, Tallye Harris added three hits and a pair of RBI, Ginny Arnold finished with three hits and Emily Milward tripled and collected three RBIs.
Coleman (7-17, 3-7) and Dublin (4-19, 3-7) finished in a tie for fourth place in the final 6-3A standings, and a tiebreaker will determine who is the district’s final playoff seed.
