The Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions dismantled yet another Class 6A opponent Monday, throttling Killeen High to the tune of a 16-3 home victory.
Brownwood (8-1) swept all seven doubles matches — three boys, three girls and one mixed — to set the tone for the match.
“It was another good win today,” said Brownwood first-year tennis head coach Crystal Blazek. “The kids are working hard and getting after it. We're just trying to prepare and get ready for district.”
In boys doubles action, Lion tandems picking up wins were No. 1 Cameron Smith and James Bautista (6-3, 7-6  over Ramos and Tran), No. 2 Mo Goff and Matthew Bundick (6-1, 6-0 over Rice and Hernandez) and No. 3 Jacob Ethridge and Oscar Ledezma (6-1, 6-0 over Gill and Joseph).
For the Lady Lions, double victories belonged to the No. 1 team of Piper Barberie and Kaytlin Welch (6-1, 6-1 over Ramirez and Cannon), No. 2 Mckinzie Adkins and Hannah Netherland (6-3, 4-6, 10-5 over Habhab and Masarachio) and No. 3 Kaylee Renfroe and Victoria Ramos (7-6 , 6-4 over Tamiras and Cierra).
Collecting the mixed doubles triumph by default were Jadyn Simental and Lillian Jonescue.
In singles action for the Lady Lions, wins were earned by No. 2 Jonescue (5-7, 6-4, 10-3 over Habhab), No. 3 Welch (6-0, 6-0 over Cannon), No. 4 Aaliyah Uvalle (6-4, 6-0 over Masarachio), No. 5 Renfroe (4-6, 6-3, 10-3 over Cierra) and No. 6 Samantha Ethridge (6-1, 6-2 over Tamiras).
Producing singles victories for the Lions were No. 1 Gabe Hinojosa (6-1, 7-5, 10-3 over Ramos), No. 3 Bautista (6-0, 6-1 over Hernandez), No. 5 Ledezma (7-5, 6-1 over Rice) and No. 6 Bundick (6-0, 6-2 over Joseph).
The Lions and Lady Lions will be back in action at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Graham.
