The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets were dealt a 3-0 loss by UT-Tyler Thursday at Citizens National Bank Field in a match that will not count toward the American Southwest Conference standings.

UT-Tyler is making the move to NCAA Division II status, and is therefore ineligible to compete for championships and postseason berths.

The Yellow Jackets (1-2), who picked up a 2-1 victory at Hendrix College Monday, were unable to light up the scoreboard Thursday.

Howard Payne attempted five shots, with three on goal — one each by Emile Accaoui, Khaled Ameen and Thomas Magill.

In goal, Matt Prall recorded 10 saves while surrendering three goals.

UT-Tyler (4-10) fired 24 shots with 13 on target as Caio Godinho, Walter Castro and Jose Poo scored.

UT-Tyler 3, Lady Jackets 0

The Howard Payne Lady Jackets remained winless, and UT-Tyler undefeated, following Thursday’s 3-0 contest at Citizens National Bank Field.

HPU (0-4) took seven shots with six on goal — one each by Jessica Swonger, Jayde Miyamoto, Chrissa Manning, Jada Austin, Kate Van Wyk and Madison Marzullo.

Delaney Castor tallied six saves with three goals allowed — a pair by UT-Tyler’s (4-0) Bri Borbeau and one from Danielle Lacasse.

The Lady Jackets and Yellow Jackets open ASC action at 2 p.m. Saturday as Ozarks visits for a doubleheader.
