LLANO — The Brownwood Lady Lions got back on the winning track, snapping a five-match skid with a four-set victory over Llano Friday night.
The Lady Lions tallied a 20-25, 25-12, 25-11, 25-17 triumph over Llano to improve to 8-13 under first-year head coach Jessica Withrow.
Brownwood served 14 aces led by four from Torrey Miller, three each from Annie Gillispie and Aleyia Cotton, two from Davalynn Monroe and one each from Hadley Monroe and Katelyn Windham.
Cotton recorded a team-high 13 kills followed by nine from Miller, six from Olivia Fowler, five from Gracie Boswell, three from Windham, and one each from Lindsey Larose and Davalynn Monroe.
Miller dished out 24 assists trailed by Davalynn Monroe with five, Hadley Monroe with two and Caitlyn Moody and Becca Church with one apiece.
Defensively, Davalynn Monroe collected 27 digs followed by Miller with 26, Cotton and Fowler with seven apiece, Moody and Gillispie both with six, Lakyn Ratliff with four, Boswell, Windham and Hadley Monroe with three each and Larose and Church with two apiece.
At the net, Miller, Windham and Boswell notched blocks.
The Lady Lions visit Eastland at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in their final match before the District 7-4A volleyball opener Friday against Mineral Wells at Warren Gym.
