The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets’ losing streak was pushed to three games with a pair of weekend American Southwest Conference losses to Concordia and Mary Hardin-Baylor.
On Thursday, the Yellow Jackets were blanked at home by Concordia, 4-0.
The Tornados scored twice in each half with goals by Zack Kusak and Alex Hayek in the first 45 minutes, and Victor Gomez and Omar Aguirre over the final half of play.
Concordia took 16 shots with seven on goal, as David Jaramillo came up with three saves for Howard Payne.
The Yellow Jackets fired seven shots with four on frame — two by Spencer Lyon and one apiece by Reid Longabaugh and Adrian Rocha
On Saturday, Howard Payne was dealt a 2-1 overtime home loss by UHMB.
The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring 10:16 into the contest when Michael Westerman scored with an assist from Ricardo Pierce.
UMHB drew even at 1 with 22:28 remaining as Jacob Cabezas scored with an assist from Mathew Lay.
Then, just 3:20 into the extra session, Cabezas recorded his second goal to push UMHB to the victory.
The Yellow Jackets finished with seven shots including five on goal — two by Westerman and one apiece by Pierce, Zachary Moreno and Adolfo Rodriguez.
UMHB took 15 shots with eight on frame as HPU goal keeper Andrew Hackney collected six saves.
Howard Payne (3-6, 2-4) will next visit ASC foe Hardin-Simmons at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
