BURNET — Brownwood Lion senior Jaryn Pruitt picked up his first golf victory of the season, firing a 3-under par round of 69 to win the Lampasas Badger Fall Classic.
Originally slated to be a two-day tournament, the event was shortened to just 18 holes and held at Delaware Springs in Burnet as Hancock Golf Course in Lampasas is still under water due to recent rains.
Pruitt, the 2017 Class 4A state champion and 2018 bronze medalist, finished four shots clear of tournament runner-up Haven McEntire (73) of Georgetown.
As a team, the Lions carded a 345 score. Also competing for Brownwood were Caden Reagan and John Murray, both with rounds of 81, Ian Harris with a 114 and Isaiah Stanke with a 133.
Georgetown captured the team championship with a composite score of 306 followed by runner-up Belton (308) and third-place Round Rock McNeil (310).
