EARLY — The Early Lady Horns opened the 2018-19 basketball by smothering the Evant Lady Elks, 54-6, Tuesday night.

Early (1-0) jumped out to an 18-0 lead after one quarter, owned a 33-2 halftime edge and carried a 44-4 advantage into the fourth period.

Taylor Summers led the Early offense with 13 points followed by 10 from Ellie Ryan, nine from Kacee Gober, eight from Vance Cady Gordon, four each from Alexa Portillo and Kailee Love and two points apiece from Carrigan Norris, Bree Rodriguez and Emily Jillson.

The Lady Horns will target a 2-0 start at 11 a.m. Saturday when they host Sidney.
