BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons chalked up their first victory, 33-28 over the Miles Lady Bulldogs Tuesday night.

Bangs (1-1) led 19-18 at halftime, but trailed 27-23 going to the third period, where the Lady Dragons outscored Miles 10-1.

The Lady Dragons were able to overcome 20 percent shooting from the floor and 50 percent shooting at the free throw line to capture the victory.

Kyra Smith led Bangs with 18 points and Kayleah Hall chipped in six.


Veribest 44, Lady Horns 36


EARLY — The Early Lady Horns suffered their first loss of the season, 44-36, to Veribest Tuesday night.

Standouts for Early (2-1) were Kacee Gober with 12 points and 13 rebounds; Ellie Ryan withe nine points and seven boards; Emily Jillson and Alexa Portillo with three points apiece; Taylor Summers, Bree Rodriguez, Vance-Cady Gordon and Carrigan Norris with two points each; and Kailee Love with one point.
