LAMPASAS – The Brownwood Lions chalked up their second consecutive victory to start the 2018-19 basketball campaign, rallying past the Lampasas Badgers, 50-46, Tuesday morning.
The Lions trailed 15-11 after one quarter and 29-24 at halftime, but pulled even at 41 through three periods.
“We committed way too many turnovers and let their pressure dictate what we were doing,” said Lions head coach Nadir Dalleh. “We've had very few practices which I blame some of that on, but we have to play smarter.”
Zach Strong led the Lions with 15 points followed by 11 each from from Isyah Campos and John Wilhelm, five from A.J. McCarty, three from Darrell Williams, two each from George Nichols and Beau Bronniman and one point from Cooper Swanzy.
The Lions (2-0) are back in action Tuesday night at Warren Gym against Jim Ned, on the back end of a doubleheader with the Lady Lions.
