DUBLIN — The Brownwood Lions came up a bucket shy of snapping a losing streak that reached five games with Tuesday night’s 61-60 road loss to the Dublin Lions.
Brownwood (3-6) led 15-11 after one quarter, 31-30 at halftime and was tied with Dublin (6-2) at 48-48 heading into the fourth period.
“We had way too many turnovers and missed too many free throws,” said Lions head coach Nadir Dalleh, whose team was 4 of 13 at the charity stripe. “That’s been the story of the last few games. We’re figure it out and hopefully get on track.”
John Wilhelm scored 23 points to pace Brownwood’s effort followed by nine from Isyah Campos, six from Zach Strong, four each from A.J. McCarty and Cooper Swanzy and two points from Ryan Riker.
The Lions are slated to take part in the Hamilton tournament Thursday through Saturday. Brownwood opens play against Llano at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
