The Brownwood Lady Lions soccer team is in the midst of its first win streak of the season following Tuesday’s 2-1 victory over Class 6A Midland Lee at Gordon Wood Stadium.
The Lady Lions, fresh off a 5-4 shootout victory at Kennedale, scored both their goals in the second half against Midland Lee.
Davalynn Monroe and Carly Person accounted for the Brownwood goals, with an assist from Watts Jones.
In goal, Tarynne DeLap recorded four saves and yielded just one goal.
The Lady Lions (3-2-1) are back in action at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Class 5A Abilene Wylie.
Midland Lee 7, Lions 1
In a game originally canceled, then added back to the schedule Tuesday afternoon, the Brownwood Lions dropped a 7-1 decision to Class 6A Midland Lee at Gordon Wood Stadium.
Down 1-0 at halftime, the Lions drew even on a goal by Enrique Hernandez with 34:10 remaining. Midland Lee, however, was able to wear down the Lions in the second half.
Tanner Roberts finished with 13 saves in goal in his first complete game on the varsity.
The Lions (0-2) are back in action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Class 5A Abilene Wylie.
