LAMPASAS — The Brownwood Lions opened their spring golf season with a fourth-place team finish at Monday's Badger Invitational, hosted by Lampasas High School.

The Lions fired a 335 composite score, led by the second-place performance from Jaryn Pruitt, who fired a 3-under par 69. Caden Reagan followed with a 76 trailed by Ben Kallman with an 87, Ian Harris with a 103 and Ceasar Rodriguez with a 110.

“There were a number of schools there, a lot of 6As and 5As, but we competed really well,” said Lions golf coach David Jones. “Jaryn shot a great round and had a chance to go even lower than that. Caden shot really well and that's with playing the last three holes 3-over. He had a really great round going and lost a couple of strokes to par the last few holes. But overall I was really proud of the guys.”

The Lions will be back in action Feb. 14 at Llano.
