The Lady Lions (6-5-1, 0-1) tallied two goals in the shootout — one from Watts Jones and one from Maddy Garza.
Channing Barron recorded a pair of saves in the shootout as well, but Mineral Wells was able to find the net three times to secure the victory.

Mineral Wells 5, Lions 0
MINERAL WELLS — Coming off their first victory of the season, the Brownwood Lions were unable to carry that momentum in the District 6-4A soccer opener, as the Mineral Wells Rams cruised to a 5-0 victory Tuesday night.
The Lions (1-7-1, 0-1) surrendered four goals in the first half, which essentially put the game away for Mineral Wells prior to intermission.
“The first half they were able to possess the ball much better than us and were able to score four goals,” said Lions head coach Scott Swanzy. “We left too much space in our midfield and they were able to play the ball into their players in the box who passed and scored.
“I was proud we didn’t allow them to score in the second half until a free kick from the right side with two minutes left that was headed into the goal by one of their players.”
The Lions are back in action at 7 p.m. Friday as they welcome Stephenville to Gordon Wood Stadium.
“We’re going to have to get to work immediately to prepare for a much more talented Stephenville team on Friday,” Swanzy said.
