The Brownwood Lady Lions finished second as a team at Thursday's Bluebonnet Invitational at the Brownwood Country Club, trailing only Class 5A Abilene Wylie.

The Lady Lions produced a 405 composite score, which left them behind Abilene Wylie's team tally of 315. Brownwood placed ahead of Wall (439), Lampasas (442), and District 7-4A rival Stephenville (464).

Mallory Garcia led Brownwood with a fifth-place round of 89 in her first tournament of the season. Wylie's Maddi Olson (67), Arin Zachary (78), Andrea Davis (84) and Brylee Valentine occupied the top four positions.

Also competing for the Lady Lions were Bryanna Galvan with a round of 99, Abbi Galvan with a 108, Abby Burks with a 109, Payton Stewart with a 117 and Amari Starr with a 142.

Thursday's event was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but was rescheduled due to rain.

The Lady Lions are slated to return to action March 1-2 at the Region I-4A preview tournament at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock.

The boys portion of the Bluebonnet Invitational is slated to take place at 9 a.m. Monday at the Brownwood Country Club.
