Brownwood tallied the first run in the top of the third as Annie-Klein Allgood led off with a single to right field and moved all the way to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Gillispie. Harris then followed with RBI double to center field. Patteson later walked, but both base runners were left stranded.
Troy (6-0-1) pulled even with an unearned run in the bottom of the third as Morgan Potter reached on a leadoff error and eventually scored on a two-out wild pitch.
