Brownwood’s Jaryn Pruitt and Caden Reagan finished first and second respectively, just one stroke apart, and the Lions were runners-up as a team at the Bluebonnet Invitational Monday at the Brownwood Country Club.

Pruitt finished with a round of 78 while Reagan was right on his heels with a 79.

“I’m proud of both Jaryn and Caden, and our team as a whole,” said Lions golf coach Davis Jones. “To come away with the the first two places in a tournament is great.”

Also competing for the Lions were Ben Kallman , who carded a round of 93, while Ian Harris posted a 94.

As a team, Brownwood finished with a 334 composite score which trailed only the 338 of Gatesville.

“Today was the worst team score we’ve had all year, but we played in some extremely tough conditions,” Jones said. “It was cold early, it warmed up a little on the back side, but the wind was a huge factor today.

The Lions are slated to return to action March 4 at the Iredell Invitational that will take place at Glen Rose’s Squaw Valley Golf Course.
