BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons slipped to 1-2 in District 6-3A softball action with Monday’s 10-1 home loss to the Comanche Maidens.

Bangs (6-10 overall) scored its only run in the bottom of the first inning as Honey Keely’s RBI single to right field that plated Ashlynn Emerson, who reached on an error. Keely’s hit was the only one surrendered by Comanche (9-5, 3-0) pitchers Alize Lopez and Chloe Williams, who combined to strike out 11 batters and walk two.

The Maidens scored twice in the first inning, one run each in the second and fifth innings and put the game out of reach with a six-run sixth.

Kialie Dodson and Cloie Montague pitched for Bangs, allowing nine earned runs on 12 hits with nine walks and two strikeouts.

Offensive standouts for Comanche were Summer Furlong, Reagan Harms and Vicki Lopez, who each doubled twice.

Bangs is scheduled to visit Early at noon Wednesday.
