CISCO — The Early Lady Horns recorded their second consecutive District 6-3A softball victory Monday, rolling past the Cisco Lady Lobos, 16-9.
Early compiled 17 hits — three each by Sydnee Shea, Emma Connelly and Laiken Reagan, who homered, two by Emma Loven, and one apiece by Taylor Summers, Alexa Portillo, Jenna Whitehead, Kailee Love, Emily Rodriguez and Jenna Whitehead. Reagan and Connelly led the Lady Horns with four RBIs, Shea and Vance Cady Gordon drove in two apiece and Loven, Rodriguez and Whitehead each collected one RBI.
Reagan went the distance in the circle for Early as she surrendered nine earned urns on 16 hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
Up 2-1 after one inning, the Lady Horns built a 7-1 advantage in the top of the third only for Cisco to close the gap to 7-6 in the bottom of the frame. Early stretched the lead to 9-6 in the top of the fourth, but the Lady Lobos added a run in the bottom of the inning. The Lady Horns then pushed the lead to 16-7 in the sixth before Cisco tallied its final two runs.
Early is scheduled to host Bangs at noon Wednesday.
