BRONTE – The Early Lady Horns tallied two wins in three matches Friday, then added another victory in three more attempts Saturday at the Bronte volleyball tournament

Early swept Comanche in two sets and notched a three-set victory over Brady, but fell to host Bronte in straight sets. On Saturday, the Lady Horns collected a 20-25, 26-24, 25-17 triumph over Coahoma while falling to Wink, 25-17, 25-23 and Water Valley, 25-18, 23-25, 25-17.

In Friday's win over Comanche, Trinity Tomlinson recorded five kills followed by two each from Taylor Summers and Alexa Portillo, and one apiece from Gwen Phillips and Carrigan Norris.

Vance-Cady Gordon collected eight assists, while aces belonged to Gordon, Portillo, Summers and Tomlinson.

Defensively, Tomlinson tallied seven digs trailed by Haley Spieckerman with six, Summers and Portillo with five each, Gordon with three and Norris with one.

Against Brady, Summers led the way with five kills followed by three from Portillo, two each from Phillips and Tomlinson and one by Spieckerman.

Gordon also notched eight assists along with two aces, while Norris and Portillo contributed one ace apiece.

Spieckerman's 12 digs were a team best followed by seven from Summers, six from Portillo, Tomlinson with four, Norris and Gordon with three each, Khyra Bell with two and Kenzie Poindexter with one.

Phillips collected the lone block.

In the loss to Bronte, Tomlinson recorded five kills, Summers added two and Phillips and Poindexter finished with one each.

Gordon dished out seven assists while Tomlinson contributed one, and Norris served the only ace.

On defense, Tomlinson amassed eight digs followed by seven each from Spieckerman, Gordon, Portillo, and Summers, and two from Bell.

In Saturday's victory over Coahoma, Tomlinson led Early with 12 kills trailed by six from Portillo, five from Norris, two from Summers and one each by Gordon and Phillips.

Gordon also contributed 18 assists with three coming from Summers and one from Tomlinson.

Tomlinson, Norris, Gordon, Spieckerman and Summers each served an ace.

Defensively, Summers recorded 15 digs followed by 13 from Gordon, 12 from Tomlinson, 10 each from Norris and Portillo, nine from Spieckerman, two from Phillips and one from Poindexter.

Tomlinson also tallied three blocks and Phillips chipped in a pair.

During the loss to Wink, Tomlinson again led the attack with eight kills trailed by Portillo with three, Summers with two and Phillips with one.

Gordon dished out 11 assists while Tomlinson was credited with one.

Summers, Spieckerman and Gordon led the way on defense with nine digs each followed by Tomlinson with seven, Portillo with six, Bell with five and Norris with a pair.

Tomlinson also contributed two blocks.

Against Water Valley, Tomlinson finished with 14 kills followed by four from Summers, two each from Gordon and Portillo and one apiece by Spieckerman and Phillips.

Gordon contributed 21 assists while Tomlinson and Spieckerman chipped in one each.

Tomlinson and Gordon served aces.

Defensively, Portillo, Gordon and Tomlinson finished with 10 digs each, nine came from Summers, eight from Spieckerman, two apiece from Norris and Phillips and one by Bell.

Portillo also collected two blocks and Tomlinson contributed one.

The Lady Horns (8-8) will be back in action at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Brady.
