SNYDER — The Brownwood Freshman Lions are off to a 2-0 start to the season following Thursday night's 34-6 trouncing of the Snyder Tigers.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Lions scored three touchdowns in the second period to build a 21-0 halftime advantage. Chance Jones hurled a 29-yard scoring toss to Jason Jackson, Konlyn Anderson returned a punt 30 yards for six points and Dryden Anderson contributed a 4-yard scoring jaunt. Jakson Yoder converted PATs after all three touchdowns.

The third period began with an 85-yard kick return by Jordan Leach, while the Lions tacked on a fourth-quarter touchdown on an 18-yard Jones scramble. Yoder added the extra point to cap the Brownwood scoring.

Defensively, standouts included Zaiden Lopez (3 tackles, 2 TFL), Noah Barron (3 tackles, 2 PBU, INT), and Sam See (2 tackles).


JV Lions 38, Snyder 30


SNYDER – The Brownwood JV Lions evened their season record at 1-1 with a 38-30 road triumph over the Snyder Tigers Thursday.

Quarterback Baylor Tidwell tossed three touchdown passes and ran for another score to highlight the offensive effort. Elias Huerta caught a pair of touchdowns and racked up more than 100 yards receiving.

Defensively, William O’Dell recovered a fumble and Uriah King recorded 11 tackles from his linebacker position.
