The Howard Payne Lady Jackets came up a goal short in one game, and played to a scoreless tie in another during weekend non-conference soccer action at Citizens National Bank Field.
On Saturday, the Lady Jackets and Schreiner finished in a scoreless tie following a pair of overtime sessions.
Howard Payne attempted 37 shots with 23 on goal, but could not light up the scoreboard. Lesly Garcia led the way with five shots on goal followed by four from Jayde Miyamoto, three each from Kara Moore and Marisah Mata, two apiece from Kelsey Bunch and Kaegan Sims, and one each by Mariah Gonzales, Kendra Cecil, Madelynn James and Emily Munoz.
Schreiner tried 12 shots with six on target as Delaney Castor and Rayden Hicks both recorded three saves.
On Friday, Howard Payne suffered a 2-1 loss to Texas Lutheran, its first of the season.
The Lady Jackets surrendered the first goal to Mariela Candelario 5:12 into the contest, with an assist from Madison Murphy.
Texas Lutheran extended its lead to two goals 8:14 into the second half when Raquel Morris scored off an assist from Candelario.
Just 3:40 later, Howard Payne cut TLU's left in half on a goal by Carrie Gerdes, assisted by Sims, but the Lady Jackets were unable to complete the comeback.
Howard Payne finished with 16 shots and 10 on goal — three by Heaven Rossette, two by Sims and one apiece by Garcia, Gonzales, James, Bunch and Gerdes.
Texas Lutheran also fired 16 shots and with seven on target.
Castor recorded five saves in goal for Howard Payne.
The Lady Jackets (2-1-1) will be back in action at 4 p.m. Tuesday when they welcome Southwestern.
