GLEN ROSE — The Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions bounced back from their one-point home loss to Brock Thursday in the District 7-4A tennis opener with an 18-1 thrashing of Glen Rose Monday afternoon.

Brownwood (11-2, 1-1) swept the boys singles, boys doubles, and girls doubles matches, along with claiming the victory in mixed doubles.

In boys singles action, wins belonged to No. 1 Mo Goff (8-5 over Cash Bryan), No. 2 Matthew Bundick (8-4 over Charlie Simons), No. 3 James Bautista (8-5 over Carson Osborne), No. 4 Oscar Ledezma (6-0, 6-1 over Parker Simmons), No. 5 Colton Varner (6-2, 6-0 over Winston Langergren) and No. 6 Peyton Jeffcoats (6-0, 6-1 over Tanner Boucher).

Collecting girls singles victories were No. 1 Mckinzie Adkins (6-1, 6-1 over Abby Green), No. 2 Kaylee Renfroe (7-5, 6-0 over Shelby Simpson), No. 3 Victoria Ramos (6-2, 6-0 over Abby Payne), No. 4 Aaliyah Uvalle (6-0, 6-0 over Sarah Bope), and No. 5 Lenzi Deluna (6-0, 6-2 over Laney Whitefield).

Chalking up boys doubles triumphs were No. 1 Goff and Bundick (7-5, 4-6, 13-11 over Bryan and Simons), No. 2 Ledezma and Varner (7-5, 2-6, 10-7 over Osborne and Simmons) and No. 3 Jeffcoats and Alex Smith (6-1, 6-2 over Boucher and Juan Daniel Garcia).

Securing wins in girls doubles were No. 1 Adkins and Renfroe (6-1, 6-2 over Green and Payne), No. 2 Ramos and Uvalle (6-1, 6-1 over Simpson and Bope) and No. 3 Deluna and Labrittney Pollard (6-3, 6-1 over Liz Gutierrez and Sarah Reilly).

Earning the mixed doubles win was Bautista and Lillian Jonescue (6-0, 6-1 over Langergren and Whitefield).

Brownwood is back in action at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 at home against 7-4A rival Mineral Wells.
