EARLY – For the third time this season, the Early Lady Horns volleyball team collected a victory over Brady, notching a 17-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-14 triumph Saturday afternoon.

Playing without Trinity Tomlinson, Early (16-9), which begins District 6-3A volleyball action Friday at Hamilton, got stronger as the match against Brady lingered.

Gwen Phillips sparked the Lady Horns' offensive attack with nine kills followed by seven from Taylor Summers, six from Alexa Portillo, and one apiece by Carrigan Norris, Savannah Holt and Khyla Bell.

Vance-Cady Gordon dished out 18 assists while Bell was credited with one.

Summers and Gordon led the way with two aces each while Haley Spieckerman served one as well.

Defensively, Gordon tallied 20 digs trailed by Spieckerman with 19, Summers with 16, Portillo with 15, Norris with seven, Phillips with five and Bell with three.

Phillips also recorded three blocks while Summers added one.

The Lady Horns will visit Lampasas at 6 p.m. Tuesday in their final district tune-up match.
