For the second week in a row, Howard Payne sophomore quarterback Caleb Estes has earned American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Estes was also selected to the National Team of the Week.

In a 56-37 win over McMurry Saturday, Estes completed 26 of 31 passes for 388 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions, throwing to eight different receivers in the process. He also rushed for 10 yards and one touchdown as the Yellow Jackets amassed 640 yards of total offense.

In the only two starts of his college career, Estes has connected on 52 of 64 pass attempts — an 81 percent clip — for 706 yards with 10 touchdowns and no interceptions. He has also rushed for 53 yards and a pair of scores.

Estes and the Yellow Jackets (2-0, 1-0) — off to their best start since 2014 — host the No. 9 Hardin-Simmons Cowboys (2-0, 1-0) in their first home game of the season at 1 p.m. Saturday.
