The Brownwood High tennis team collected two more victories Saturday, defeating Snyder, 19-0, and Gatesville, 14-5, in a pair of non-district home matches.

“We're still playing well in doubles, we just need to put in a little more work in singles,” said Brownwood tennis head coach Crystal Blazek. “These were good matches to play before we face Godley.”

In the 19-0 victory over Snyder, singles wins for the Lions belonged to No. 1 Mo Goff (6-0, 6-1 over Collin Guynes), No. 2 Matthew Bundick (7-6, 6-2 over Chris Moreno), No. 3 Oscar Ledezma (7-5, 7-5 over John Hernandez), No. 4 Colton Varner (6-0, 6-0 over Neftali James), No. 5 Peyton Jeffcoats (7-6, 7-1 over Eli McClain), and No. 6 Jacob Singleton (retired over Shad Hodges).

Collecting singles wins for the Lady Lions were No. 1 Mckinzie Adkins (6-1, 6-3 over Carolyn StellutI), No. 2 Kaylee Renfroe (4-6, 6-3, 10-6 over Kynzie Avalos), No. 3 Lillian Jonescue (6-3, 6-1 over Brandy Jones), No. 4 Victoria Ramos (6-1, 6-1 over Morgan Chapman), No. 5 Aaliyah Uvalle (6-0, 6-1 over Desire Malmsten), and No. 6 Cameron Hall (6-2, 6-1 over Mary Kerr).

Notching doubles wins on the boys side were No. 1 Goff and Bundick (8-1 over Guynes and Andrew McGraw), No. 2 Jeffcoats and Ledezma (8-1 over Moreno and Hernandez), and No. 3 Varner and Alex Smith (8-4 over McClain and James).

Picking up doubles triumphs for the girls were No. 1 Adkins and Hall (8-3 over Stelluti and Jones), No. 2 Ramos and Renfroe (8-0 over Avalos and Emilie Hodges), and No. 3 Uvalle and Jonescue (8-5 over Malmsten and Chapman).

The mixed doubles win was also claimed by the Brownwood tandem of Peter Le and Lenzi Deluna (8-5 over Shad Hodges and Reyes).

Against Gatesville, the Lady Lions doubles duos led the charge with a flawless record. Tallying wins were No. 1 Adkins and Hall (6-3, 6-0 over Stormy Tatum and Rady Hollingsworth), No. 2 Uvalle and Renfroe (6-1, 6-4 over Anna Mitchell and Julee Sun) and No. 3 Ramos and Deluna (by default).

The Lions chalked up two doubles victories by No. 2 Jeffcoats and Ledezma (6-1, 6-4 over Sloane Early and Laden Walls) and No. 3 Smith and Varner (6-4, 6-7, 10-8 over Trevor Bentley and Jorge Gomez).

Earning the mixed doubles win were Jonescue and Singleton (6-4, 7-5 over Bri Alexander and Alex Scott).

Singles wins in girls action were captured by No. 3 Jonescue (6-4, 6-0 over Mitchell), No. 4 Ramos (6-2, 6-1 over Sun), No. 5 Uvalle (6-3, 6-2 over Alexander) and No. 6 Deluna (6-3, 6-4 over Megan Barcott).

The singles victories on the boys sides belonged to No. 1 Goff (6-4, 6-4 over Shy Tatum), No. 2 Bundick (6-4, 7-5 over Early) and No. 5 Jeffcoats (6-1, 6-0 over Bentley).

The Lions and Lady Lions resume District 7-4A tennis action at 4 p.m. Monday in Glen Rose against Godley.
