ABILENE — The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets dropped a 105-36 exhibition outing to NCAA Division I Abilene Christian here Thursday night.
Howard Payne led 14-9 with 14:29 left in the first half following back-to-back three-pointers by ASC West Player of the Week Jace Miguez, who scored 44 points in an 88-78 loss at Southwestern this past Saturday, and Luke Cox.
By halftime, however, the Yellow Jackets were in a 46-27 hole.
Abilene Christian then outscored Howard Payne 59-9 in the second half as the Yellow Jackets scored on a Jaylan Ballou layup 45 seconds into the second half, but did not convert another field goal the final 19:15 of the contest.
