MAY — The Early Lady Horns finished third at the May basketball tournament over the weekend, defeating Zephyr (53-13) and Cross Plains (51-26) while falling to host May (58-48).
Carrigan Norris led the Lady Horns with 50 points over the three-game stretch followed by Taylor Summers with 41, Alexa Portillo with 25, Savannah Holt with 12, Caroline Welker with 10, Grace LaRue with six, Reagan Kirby with five and Dana Lykes with four points.
The Lady Horns will be back in action at noon Monday at Breckenridge.
Longhorns take part in Eula tournament
EULA — The Early Longhorns split their first two games at the Eula Holiday Classic Friday, defeating Christoval, 50-49, after falling to Holliday, 47-42.
Against Christoval, Timmy Smithson led Early with 19 points trailed by Ethan Mitchell with 13, Kiah Laborn with six, Vic Cooper and Bryce Denson with four each and Nathan Mitchell with two points.
In the loss to Holliday, Brent Grooms led the Longhorns with seven points followed by Laborn, Smithson and Ethan Mitchell with five each, and Cooper and Nathan Mitchell with four points apiece.
On Saturday, the Longhorns defeated Colorado City, 41-31, in their first outing to advance to the consolation final, where they fell to Stamford, 72-49.

The Longhorns tip off the District 6-3A schedule at 8 p.m. Friday when Cisco visits.
