GRAHAM — The Brownwood Lady Lions stretched their win streak to six games with a 54-38 road victory over the Graham Lady Steers Tuesday night.

Brownwood (14-9) led throughout the contest as the Lady Lions were in front of Graham (10-13) by a 15-12 count after one quarter, 22-13 at halftime, and 39-27 through three frames.

“I was proud of the way we came out and played in the second half,” said Lady Lions head coach Heather Hohertz. “We moved the ball really well and played solid defense.”

Matyha Thompson again paced the Lady Lions offensive attack with 29 points trailed by nine from Catrina Fullerlove-Brooks, six each from Lindsey Larose and McKenzie Welker and four points from Brooke Price.

The Lady Lions shot 44 percent (20 of 45) overall, and 52 percent (19 of 36) inside the three-point arc. Brownwood also converted 76 percent (13 of 17) of its free throws and grabbed 22 rebounds.

Brownwood tips off its District 7-4A slate at 6 p.m. Friday at Glen Rose (19-6).
