LONGVIEW — The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets slid to 0-7 in American Southwest Conference action and 1-15 overall following their 14th consecutive defeat Saturday afternoon, 107-87 at the hands of LeTourneau.

The Yellow Jackets trailed by just six points at halftime, 52-46, but were outscored by LeTourneau, 55-41, during the second half.

Howard Payne converted 51 percent (33 of 64) of its shots, including 11 three-pointers, but LeTourneau drained 55 percent (40 of 73) of its field goal attempts and also sank 11 treys. LeTourneau also knocked down 16 free throws to HPU's 10, owned a 37-33 edge in rebounds and forced 23 turnovers while committing just 15.

The Yellow Jackets received 22 points from Jase Miguez, 21 from Jacob Smith, 11 from Joshua Taylor, nine from Kyle Kildare, seven from Colton Otts, four each from Talen Davis and Jayden Modrall, three apiece from Javaris Jones and Evan Adkins, two from Eliajah Pruitt, and one point from Jaylan Ballou.

LeTourneau was led by 25 points from Nate West, 19 from Korrin Taylor, 18 apiece from John Argue and Andrew Eberhardt, and 12 points from Justin Moore.

The Yellow Jackets will target their first home win, first ASC triumph, and first victory since Nov. 15 when they host Ozarks (5-11, 1-6) — coming off a 78-68 loss to Louisiana College — at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
