The Early Lady Horns placed first as a team at the Comanche Invitational powerlifting meet this past Thursday, while defending Class 3A girls 165-pound weight class state champion Allie Blasingame on Saturday brought home a gold medal from the Texas Longhorn Invitational, sponsored by the Longhorn powerlifting team.

At Comanche, Veronica Villarreal was awarded best heavyweight lifter after finishing first in the 220s.

Other first-place efforts belonged Katelyn Espinosa 1st in the 97s, Hannah Middleton in the 114s, and Alyne Celdeon n the 165s.

Coming in second were Katie Hollon in the 105s and Rebekah Smithson in the 132s.

Placing third were Danielle Alcorta in the 148s and Celest Leon in the 165s, while April Brightman finished fifth in the 181s.

In boys action, Hanner Campbell, in the 114s, and Fischer Fulton, in the 275s, both placed second, while Brent Wade, in the 114s, Michael Morales, in the 132s, and Diego Crader, in the 198s, came in third.
