EARLY — The Early Lady Horns improved to 3-0 on the young season with a 71-33 win over Santo Tuesday.

Early led 22-6 after one quarter, 42-13 at halftime and 57-20 after three periods of play.

Four Lady Horns finished in double figures, led by 17 points from Tresta Donahoo, 15 from Katie Isom, 13 from Julia Loudermilk and 12 from Tylene Middleton.

Brianna Childs added seven points, Shandi Winstead tallied four points and Bailey Harris finished with three points.

The Lady Horns travel to Grape Creek at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Bangs 37,

No. 7 Goldthwaite 34

BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons clawed past the Class A Division I No. 7 Goldthwaite Lady Eagles, 37-34, Tuesday night to remain unbeaten.

Bangs (3-0) led 8-7 after one quarter, trailed 15-14 at halftime and regained a 19-17 edge heading into the fourth period.

Hillary Evans sparked Bangs with 17 points, trailed by six each from Drea Evers and Danielle Denbow, five from Keirstin Williams, two points from Beth Mullins and one point from Abby Hall.

Chesney Neely led Goldthwaite with 19 points and Madison Berry chipped in nine.

Bangs will host Cisco at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Blanket 45, Gustine 36

BLANKET — The Blanket Lady Tigers outscored Gustine 18-4 in the second period en route to a 45-36 win Tuesday night.

Blanket led 16-14 after one quarter, 34-18 at halftime and 38-23 heading into the fourth quarter.

Orlanda Lopez led the Lady Tigers with 14 points, trailed by 10 from Candace Bundick, nine from Danie Casarez, four each from Jessica Barrow and Nikki Andrews and two points apiece from Charity Ferguson and Ashley Valle.

Blanket will host De Leon Friday.

Santa Anna 73, Mullin 13

SANTA ANNA — The Santa Anna Lady Mountaineers improved to 3-0 on the season with a 73-13 win over Mullin Tuesday night.

Santa Anna led 26-4 after one quarter, 46-7 at halftime and 67-7 heading into the fourth quarter.

Sarah Herrod scored 22 points for the Lady Mountaineers, Kaitlyn Krause tallied 16 points and Sierra Guerrero finished with nine.

San Angelo Christian 25

SANTA ANNA — The Santa Anna Mountaineers cruised to a 79-25 win over San Angelo Christian in Tuesday’s season opener.

The Mountaineers opened a 14-5 first-quarter lead that increased to 36-18 by halftime. Santa Anna was in front 59-20 after three quarters.

Manny Dancy finished with 20 points for Santa Anna (1-0), trailed by Chris Tate’s 15, 11 by Josh Perez, 10 by Marcus Valencia, eight by Kenneth McMillan, four each by Joe Guerrero and Christian Washington and three by Mike Dancy.
