Little Lionettes camp
scheduled to start Monday
The annual Little Lionettes camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 28 to Thursday, July 31 at the Brownwood Middle School gym.
The camp, under the supervision of BHS Lionette director Stacee Hetzel, costs $40 per child and the fee includes a T-shirt and button.
The Little Lionettes will perform the last day of camp, as well as during a Brownwood Lions home football game this fall.
HPU Lady Jackets basketball
camp tips off Monday
The Howard Payne Lady Jackets will host a girls basketball fundamentals July 28-31 at the HPU Wellness Center.
The camp on July 14-17 for girls entering the second through fifth grades was postponed and will be included in the July 28-31 camp.
The camp will be divided into sessions - one for incoming second through eighth graders from 9 a.m. to noon, and the other for incoming ninth through 12th graders from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. each day.
The cost of the camp is $70 and includes a T-shirt.

Lady Lions volleyball camp
slated to begin Monday
The Brownwood Lady Lions volleyball camp will take place Monday, July 28 through Thursday, July 31 at the Brownwood High School Gym.
A session for incoming 10th through 12th graders will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, while a session for incoming seventh through ninth graders will follow from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The cost to attend the camp is $30 and a T-shirt is included. Checks made payable to BHS Volleyball Camp can be mailed to Coach Mary Steed, 2100 Slayden, Brownwood, Texas, 76801.
Football officials meet
Mondays at Newman Hall
A Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO) football officials meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 28 in Newman Hall Room 136 on the Howard Payne campus.
Meetings will follow each Monday at the same time and location.

Lions season tickets on sale for current holders through Aug.1
Reserved football tickets for the 2008 Brownwood Lions football season will be on sale for current ticket holders only from Monday, July 21 through Friday, Aug. 1 at the Brownwood ISD Administration Office at 2707 Southside Drive.
Season tickets cost $30 each and current parking permit holders for this season also may be renewed at this time for $30 each.
Tickets will be on sale from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
Cen-Tex Soccer holding
registration through Aug. 2
Registration for Cen-Tex Soccer is currently under way and will continue through Saturday, Aug. 2. The cost is $35 per child and no late registrations will be accepted.
Forms are available and may be turned in at Weakley-Watson Sporting Goods downtown or at the Cen-Tex Soccer Complex from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, and Saturday, Aug. 2.

Little Lions registration
continues through Aug. 8
The Brownwood Lions Mothers Club has started their 2008 Little Lion registration.
Registration is $15 and will run through Aug. 8. Entry forms are available at Weakley Watson Sporting Goods and Wal-Mart Sporting Goods.
An applicant will receive a T-shirt and will be matched with a varsity player. Requests will not be honored. Little Lions will get to meet their varsity player at “Meet the Lions” on Aug. 25.

Texas Youth Football League
early registration continues
Early registration for the upcoming fall season of the Texas Youth Football League is now under way. Registration forms for the third and fourth grade and fifth and sixth grade leagues are available at Weakley-Watson.
Registration fees are $105 before July 31; $120 before Aug. 19; and $140 between Aug. 19 and the cutoff deadline of Aug. 24.
Teams from Brownwood, Early, Bangs, Brady, Coleman, Comanche, Santa Anna and San Saba and Goldthwaite will comprise the league, with all games being played on Saturdays.

football tickets now available
Tickets for the Brownwood Lions’ 2008 football season opener against the Burnet Bulldogs at the Alamodome in San Antonio are now on sale. Kickoff is slated for 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30.
Tickets may be purchased at the Brownwood ISD Administration Office at 2707 Southside Dr. from 8 a.m. to 4:30 Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
The cost of the tickets are $10 apiece and all money collected for the game will remain in Brownwood.

Lions Mothers’ Club announces
“You’ve been mauled” fundraiser
The Brownwood Lions Mothers’ Club will introduce the “You’ve been mauled” fundraiser for the upcoming football season.
For $25, the “You’ve been mauled” sign - which will start at the Taylor Clinic - can be purchased and placed in the yard of a friend neighbor or business associate for a week.
To have the sign moved to another location, the person whose yard the sign was placed pays $25 and supplies a name and address that the sign should be taken to next.
If a business or individual wants to keep the sign for a longer period of time, that can be arranged as well.
If someone wants the sign at their home or business or wants to have the sign placed elsewhere, call Melissa Crow at 641-2334. Leave a message if necessary.
District 2-3A map books
now available for purchase
The supporters of Brownwood Lady Lions softball are selling map books to the sites of all Brownwood’s new foes in District 2-3A for $5.
The book includes maps to all sports venues - for both boys and girls sports - in District 2-3A, along with information about each school, contact numbers for each school, and restaurants within each town.
