Cen-Tex Soccer Association spring registration under way Registration for the Cen-Tex Soccer Association’s spring season is under way and will run through Feb 17.
The fee is $35 per player and the season runs from March 17-April 28.
Registration forms are available daily at Weakley-Watson or at the Cen-Tex Soccer Complex on Feb. 10 from 10 a.m.-noon and Feb. 17 from noon-2 p.m.

Texas Youth Football League early registration under way
Early registration for the upcoming fall season of the Texas Youth Football League is now under way.
Through April 30, players can register for just $70. On May 1, the cost to enter the league increases to $105 per player.
The registration fee includes everything but shoes and socks for each player.
Registration forms for the third and fourth grade and fifth and sixth grade leagues are available at Weakley Watson Sporting Goods.
Teams from Brownwood, Early, Bangs, Brady, Coleman, Comanche, San Saba and Goldthwaite will comprise the league, with games being played on Saturday. The majority of the games will take place in Brownwood.

USTA officials school at Howard Payne Monday
A United States Tennis Association officials school will be held at Howard Payne University in the Mabee Center Bullion Suite A at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29.

‘Spirit Week’ for HPU hoops on Feb. 1 and Feb. 3
‘Spirit Week’ has been announced for the the Howard Payne Lady Jackets and Yellow Jackets home basketball games on Thursday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 3.
HPU will play Hardin-Simmons in a doubleheader on Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m., then face McMurry in two games on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
Among the activities will be t-shirt drawings, halftime contests, PIPS performances and face and hair painting, along with a white-out Thursday and a blue-out Saturday.
Those two dates are also the final two Brown County schools’ games.
Any student that attends a Brown County elementary, junior high, middle school or high school will be able to attend these basketball games free of charge.
Brownwood Lions lift-a-thon set for Feb. 1
The Brownwood Lions lift-a-thon, which has become an annual fund-raiser for the athletic department over the past decade, will be held Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at Warren Gym.
The event centers around student-athletes gaining pledges and contributions throughout the week based on the amount of weight they are able to lift during the meet.
Early Youth Baseball meeting on Feb. 8
The Early Youth Baseball Association will hold a meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 at the Early Small Business Incubator.
All coaches, assistant coaches and anyone interested in Early Youth Baseball is encouraged to attend.

Bangs planning two PIPS Little Dribblers tournaments
The Bangs Players in Progress (PIPS) Organization is sponsoring a pair of Little Dribblers tournament on Feb. 20-24 and Feb. 26-March 3 at the Bangs Elementary School Gym.
Third and fourth grade boys and girls teams will play during the first date while fifth and sixth grade boys and girls teams will play the second.
